A limited number of clinical and public health volunteer opportunities
are available in Boston with the Hepatitis B Initiative (HBI) — a
student-run, nonprofit organization seeking to reduce the incidence of
hepatitis B in the Boston community. This is a great opportunity for
anyone who is considering a career in medicine or public health, or is
just interested in community service. As a volunteer, you will have
the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects and
activities, from hepatitis B screenings and vaccinations at clinics to
public health awareness at outreach fairs.
Join the over 150 volunteers from Brandeis, Boston College, Boston
University, Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, Tufts, UMass, and Wellesley
College in their fight against hepatitis B in the Asian American and
Pacific Islander community in the Greater Boston area!
As a volunteer, you will be required to stay involved in the fall and
spring semesters, and during this time, you must participate in at
least one activity/event each month. Ability to speak Cantonese,
Mandarin, Korean, or Vietnamese is helpful but not necessary. Please
contact Helen Cho at firstname.lastname@example.org for an application.
