Two Public Health Events

The 2009 William Bicknell Symposium entitled “Is There Such a Thing as a Safe(r) Cigarette?”

Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, 8:30 am-12 pm

The keynote speaker will be Gregory N Connolly, DMD, MPH from Harvard School of Public Health. A continental breakfast at 8:30 will be followed by Dr. Connolly’s lecture from 9:00-10:00, and a panel discussion will follow the lecture.

This event will take place in the first floor auditorium in the research building at 670 Albany St. which is located behind 700 Albany St. just down the driveway at the east end of the Albany parking garage where the shuttle bus stops.

Keynote speaker Louis W. Sullivan, MD (BUSM ’58), former Secretary, US Department of Health and Human Services

Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 from 9:00 -11:45 AM

Dr. Sullivan’s talk is entitled “Health Care Reform and the Promise to Address Health Outcomes Disparities.” Dr. Sullivan’s talk will be followed by a panel discussion by prominent faculty members from the BU Medical Campus.

This talk will take place in Bakst Auditorium on the first floor of the BU School of Medicine. Breakfast is included and there is no charge.
